Member First Nations

The Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council consists of Eight Member First Nations. Below is a list of the member First Nations that make up the Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council. For more information on the member First Nation click on the link below.

	Birdtail Sioux First Nation Birdtail Sioux First Nation is a Dakota Nation and is approximately 48 kilometres north of Virden, Manitoba.
	Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation Sandy Bay First Nation is located 165 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The nearest city in proximity is Portage La Prairie, Sandy Bay is just 90 kilometres northwest of the city. Sandy Bay has a large population.
	Dakota Plains First Nation Dakota Plains First Nation is located approximately 28 kilometres southwest of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.
	Long Plain First Nation Long Plain First Nation is 23 kilometres southwest of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. Accessibility to services and resources is therefore an advantage. Long Plain has land just outside of Portage La Prairie. This is where the Long Plain Training Institute is situated.
	Canupawakpa Dakota Nation Canupawakpa First Nation is 27 kilometres south of Virden, Manitoba. It is also just 6 kilometres north of Pipestone, Manitoba.
	Sioux Valley Dakota Nation Sioux Valley Dakota Nation is located 45 kilometres west of Brandon, Manitoba. Sioux Valley Dakota Nation signed the first self government agreement in Manitoba. This community was one of five First Nation communities that were chosen for the development of a Casino.
	Swan Lake First Nation Swan Lake First Nation is located in the southern region of Manitoba 135 kilometres southeast of Brandon, Manitoba, and 175 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
	Waywayseecappo First Nation Waywayseecappo First Nation is conveniently located on Highway 45 just 20 miles east of Russell and just a few miles from the southwestern corner of Riding Mountain National Park.
	Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation Roseau River First Nation is located 20 kilometres from the United States border, and 90 kilometres south of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
